We capped of the year with a tournament and then learned a. variety of chess called double-bughouse.

We went over the pins worksheet

We started our year-end tournament. We learned how to use a chess clock and played two games with a clock. Awards next week. Top 3 plus top in each grade except 8th.

 TOURNAMENT RESULTS

We didn't win a lot of games, but we out-performed our ratings. We were heavy underdogs in every game, but we still managed 3 wins - one by each member of the team. Counting byes, we scored 5.5 points. Ben is now over half-way to his bronze merit award. Our team came in 9th place out of 10 teams.

 Today we went over the hurdle worksheets and then had a lesson and worksheet on pins. Ben, Owen, and Warren will be representing our school at the State Tournament this weekend. Next week we'll start the Heritage championship tournament. Be there!
